Decluttering as Magic: Clearing Energy & Space

As much as my brain thrives on clutter, there’s a calmness when I walk into a friend’s home that feels clear, open, and welcoming. While I realize I’ll never have a perfect, spotless home (because I’m a constantly growing, evolving human being), I can have a space that feels good to me. A home that contains my “junk” and still makes me happy to be in it.

I’m one of those people who cycles between waves of keeping and waves of tossing. When I’m in a “keep” wave, things go into a bag or box (my “chaos containers”) and get tucked into a closet or a corner. When I’m in a “purge” wave, I feel a rush of accomplishment letting things go — trashing, donating, or finally dealing with things I forgot I even had. Honestly, I like both. Each cycle feels like a breath of fresh air for my mind.

🕯️ The Magic of Decluttering
Clearing space isn’t just about tidiness — it’s about energy. Old items, dust, and clutter hold onto memories and emotions. Even science says visual clutter increases stress and makes it harder to focus. A little clearing can feel like shifting the air in your whole life.

🔮 Try This Mini Realm Reset:

  • Pick one small area (a single drawer, the entryway, or even just the top of a table).

  • Set a timer for 10 minutes.

  • As you sort, whisper or think: “Release what I no longer need. Keep what makes me smile.”

  • When you’re done, light a candle or open a window to welcome in fresh energy.

That’s it. No all-day overhaul, no shame spiral. Just one small act that shifts your realm.

💬 Your turn: How do you clear your space? Do you lean more toward chaos containers, or do you thrive on tossing things right away?
